Lucidchart is a tool for creating flowcharts, organizational maps, wireframes, mindmaps, graphic organizers, Venn diagrams, and other diagrams. It recently added the option of including interactive tables and notations to charts. Right-click on any shape in your mind map to write and add a note about it. The new tables option allows the addition of spreadsheets to Lucidchart flowcharts.
It's a simple drag and drop interface for creating flow charts, organizational charts, mind maps, and other types of diagrams. Just select elements from the menus and drag them to the canvas. You can re-size any element and type text within elements. Arrows and connecting lines can be re-sized, repositioned, and labeled to add clarity.
There are two versions: an iOS app and Web browser-based. It's supported in all modern Web browsers, but Google Chrome users can use Lucidchart offline through the Lucidchart Chrome app.
Lucidchart charges business customers, but makes all of their tools free for teachers and students. Lucidchart is a good tool for instructors (and students) to create charts that explain processes in science or to simply show the connections between key concepts in a course.
