This interesting new free site enables teachers to create interactive video lessons (called "bulbs") for flipped, online, and blended classes. The app works on all major browsers, on Macs, PCs, and iPads. Embed it into your website or blog. Add rich questions:
In this online learning environment, you build and share interactive video lessons. Teachers begin with any YouTube, Vimeo, or TeacherTube video content (screencasts, Khan Academy, Minute Physics, TED, NOVA, etc.) and transform what is traditionally passive content into an active experience for students. By time-linking activities that students engage with as the video progresses the content is segmented into digestible components, increasing student engagement and through real-time monitoring, informing the next day’s lesson planning.
Use this interface in class as a blended tool, assigning students an eduCanon lesson as homework in a flipped setting, or have students to create their own eduCanon lesson as a higher-level Bloom's project. eduCanon is flexible to suit the resources and teaching style of your classroom.
eduCanon was founded and created by teachers; they are committed to keeping everything you see on the site—including the ability to embed multiple choice questions into the YouTube of your choosing, assign it to your students, and get a question-by-question breakdown of student performance—100 % free.
